As part of Pollak Vineyards’ “America 250 Series”, Pollak Vineyards will hold “An Evening with Richard Leahy,” author of the Beyond Jefferson’s Vines: the Evolution of Quality Wine in Virginia, the definitive book on Virginia wine, on Friday, July 3rd, from 6:00-8:00 pm, at their Greenwood winery near the intersection of Rts. 250 and 151.

While Thomas Jefferson is often credited with inspiring Virginia’s wine story, Leahy’s acclaimed book reveals a much broader and more fascinating history of one that spans more than four centuries of experimentation, perseverance, and innovation. Through the stories of visionaries across generations, Beyond Jefferson’s Vines traces the remarkable journey that transformed Virginia from an ambitious wine-growing colony into a respected wine region.

The ticket price includes a curated flight of four of Poillak estate grown wines and a boxed meal from Greenwood Grocery. Preference for your meal type must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday, July 1.

Following the talk, guests will have the opportunity to ask questions and have a copy of his book, personally signed. Books will be available for purchase ($19.99 + tax) or guests may bring a copy they already own.
