The eighth annual Eastern Winery Exposition opens in one week, Tuesday March 19th at the Oncenter in downtown Syracuse, NY. EWE is the largest production wine industry trade show and conference east of the Pacific states, and will feature 215 exhibitors, a day of three consecutive single-topic workshops, two days of exhibits alongside two seminar tracks featuring eastern-focused topics and speakers on viticulture, enology and money/management. Attendance in recent years is typically around 1,000.

On Tuesday 3/19, the three concurrent day-long workshops will feature sparkling wine, managing microbes to avoid spoilage, and cold climate grapes and wine. Wednesday and Thursday seminar themes will include new technology and mechanization in the vineyard, varietal focuses on cabernet franc and sauvignon blanc, and dry rose of all origins. There will be two sessions on yeast options and management, lab analysis for beginners and intermediates, a two-part series on how to keep fruit forward in the final wine, and many other topics.

For the third year, the “License to Steal” wine marketing conference will be co-located with EWE and registration is possible at the EWE website.
