***→**Ankida Ridge Pinot Noir 2021 VA

Released after only six weeks in the bottle, tasted when a year old.
Color: translucent medium ruby. Nose: racy, with bright red cherry, raspberries, a hint of white pepper and spice, flinty minerality. Aside from the red fruit aromas, very much like an estate Mosel Riesling. Palate: young, with vivid electric acidity matched by bright ripe red fruits. Mid-palate, the flavors change to truffle, clean earth and forest floor notes. Tannins are smooth, and balance the fruit and acidity. This wine is clean, with bright, vivid fruit. Young, you could say it is “embryonic,” but has great style, finesse, and a bright future. Best from 2024-2031.

Rating Scale: ** = very good, *** = outstanding, ***= → = will increase in quality with time.
